Unbelievably Good Songs You're Probably Never Gonna Hear.
How do these things happen? Songs on the top of the charts that no one seems to love but everyone knows. Songs that two years later no one will admit to having liked. Yet a song like the one in this video, by a prominent musical artist just go almost unnoticed. I heard this song on a college radio station and immediately called the station (probably the 5th time in my life I'd ever done that) and couldn't get through. I called one of my musically gifted brothers, and he knew it Was from Bruce Springsteen's newest album.
I immediately got this and listened a few dozen times convinced that it would be a major hit, a signature song that every guy over 30 years old would certainly relate to and Love!
I heard it on the radio maybe 10 times and it disappeared.
This song could pull me out of the worst funk ever! It is fun and happy, and very cool. Jamiroquai is very popular all over the world, but not here in USA> How can that be? They won Best Video from MTV, awhile ago for "Virtual Insanity" which was a great song as well.
Is it just me or do the standards of popular music seem 100% arbitrary? Jules Shear is the greatest song writer you have never heard about. He writes lyrics that can make you laugh and rip your heart out.
You've never heard of him but I guarentee you've heard some of his songs. His voice is an "acquired taste", but his delivery has all the heart and soul of Enrico Caruso. Liste to his song and tell me that's NOT amazing! This song has been on youtube almost one year and only 7 people have rated it!!
