10 Cents a Dance
I know this isn’t “hot today”, it originally aired in 2006, and it’s not my first time viewing the video. But, you know, as I was surfing around, I caught this and started watching it again and I enjoyed it as much as the first time!
This guy is friggin awesome! His is a good dancer, but that’s not all. He has genuine personality and appeal and it comes through in the video. You’re happy and excited for the guy, rooting him on as you hear each song change. It’s a fun, wild ride and all you have to do is watch.
That brings me to my main point here. You know I genuinely feel bad for him. I hope he has a great attitude and is enjoying the celebrity it may have brought him. After all, almost 150 million views of this video have taken place. Imagine how many individual people have seen this? Have you considered that he may not have received a dime for a bit of it?
I must confess I don’t think I could live with that. Don’t get me wrong, I believe some selfless acts make us better human beings, just in the doing of them. But to entertain people with your dance, having fun and suddenly becoming an unpaid phenomenon; let’s just say I’d be doing the bitter jitter, unless I found a way to get a little something something!
