“Between 1979 and 1981, 30 young African-Americans between ages 9 and 28 were either killed or declared missing in what was known as the "Atlanta Child Murders" case….Wayne Bertram Williams was found guilty …. He was sentenced to two consecutive life terms. …Activists who believe in the innocence of Williams asked Dr. Hickey to come back … Dr. Hickey points out. "He had to be part of the community, have access to the children, and act with impunity to lure them in. I am 100% sure Williams is the killer. He fits the profile exactly. Wayne Williams killed at least 17 of Atlanta's children and deserves to spend his life in prison."

Let’s all qualify this word we love to throw around, called expert. Remember that it is applied to human beings, not gods. Doctors told my family I wouldn’t survive a car accident I was in. That was 10 years ago. Doctors told me that I would never walk again; good doctors, specialists in their specialized fields. Guess what? I won’t win any foot races, but I am walking today.

If you have lived enough years you have experienced that moment that defied all logic. If you hadn’t been there, you’d never have believed your own eyes.

So this “expert” says the guy has to be guilty? Hey I know little about either parties, but before you throw stones (or the electric switch), bear in mind that in “The Miracle on 34th Street”, they thought Santa was crazy. Well, maybe that’s not the best argument, but you see the train I’m on, right?

The short version is that we are mere frail humans, let’s give everyone a little slack, and don’t take experts too seriously, even in this incredibly serious situation.
