Breaking: WaPo's David Weigel Resigns After More Conservative-bashing Emails Disclosed
The new emails also demonstrated that yesterday's quasi-apology from Weigel was really not as sincere as he claimed. He said that he made some of his most offensive remarks at the end of a bad day. But these new emails show that there was really nothing unique about them, and that offensive remarks about conservatives really were nothing new or uncommon.

Okay, first, David who? Some poor schmuck spoke badly about some other poor schmuck. I got it.
He’s a journalist writing a blog, and he is supposed to be objective. That’s the first problem. I gotta warn you, objective points of view are usually pretty boring. Not much entertainment value in that. So if anybody was reading his blog, I guarantee you he wasn’t objective.
Next let’s talk about the schmucks who exposed him. I challenge any of them to open their private emails up. Give me twenty minutes with their passwords and I guarantee you they will be divorced, fired, and lose, like minimum, 1/3 of their friends.
People talk dirt about one another. Even about the people they genuinely like. I have known about 20 people out of thousands who don’t talk smack on the people they know. It’s a disheartening fact, that I think most people would agree with (if you don’t PLEASE tell me where you live and/or who you associate with and I am there0.
If David Weigel has been kissing butts and then assassinating those same butts, then all right, but I doubt that’s the case. I have said some rotten things about clients I really kinda liked, just cause they peeved me for a minute.
Could we stop holding people to standards we can’t live up to?
In a perfect world a reporter covering the conservative political beat would be neither liberal nor conservative in his views while on the job. But c’mon we all have opinions! Would he be a better journalist if he were a hardnosed conservative. I’d rather see the Washington Post hire a bunch of conservatives report on the liberal happenings of the day. I’ll bet the stories would be juicier, and the reported on, would be held to a higher standard; we all tend to cut slack to those we feel sentimentally attached to (when are you guys gonna stop thinking Obama could be the next JFK?)
Give the guy a break.
